Long Time No Blog
Mood:  not sure

I can't believe it has been so long since I have take time to blog. It just seems like there is always one thing after another happening in my life. I missed posting birthdays for Aunt Pat~79 and going strong, Landon~3 and ready to be a big brother any time now, Aunt Bonita~92 going on 21 and Conie who just turned 26. So Happy Birthday to each and  every one of you. And Happy 4th Anniversary to Mike and Dana.

I have been really tired and worn down lately. Even more so than usual. And I have alot of pain in my neck and kidney area. Plus in my legs and arms. So I went to the doctor yesterday. She put me on Lyrica for Fibromylgia. That would explain a lot of the problems I am having now. Then she gave me a tetnus shot. It hurtand it burned. But at least I'm good for 10 years.

So the bad news is I have Fibromylgia. The good news is we know what I have and we can treat it and we are.

It is too hot to go out. It is 99*F out right now. But the heat index is at 120*F. We are 30* hotter than Phoenix, AZ.

Check out my store at: http://akshanon.tripod.com or visit me on myspace at Big Mamas Kitchen

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay safe on the roads this weekend.

Peace Out,
~Shanon~

Mood:  caffeinated

Yesterday was Lilah's birthday.   Happy Birthday She turned 2. She is the daughter of my niece Kamryn & her husband Jared. I couldn't post it yesterday as we had a terrible thunderstorm going through here. We sent her 2 summer outfit, a pair of pajamas and a stuffed doggie. Her birthday party will be this weekend.

Our daghter Kristen called us today. She had to take her 5 yr old son Kaleb in for testing today. They thought he might be autistic. They told he he was retarded.  Crying 1

I told her they were full of it. These are the same doctors who wanted her to turn him off life support at birth because he wouldn't make it through the first night, see, hear, walk, ortalk. The doctor today told her he had no intelligence, and would never be able to drive. Kaleb is very intelligent and the only thing that will keep him from driving will be if you hide the distributor cap.  ROTFL

Check out my stores. My website is: http://akshanon.tripod.com

You never know what you might find.  Shopping 2

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I Am Crispyfied~Again
Mood:  accident prone

I got sunburned at the Bloomin' Fest on Saturday. All over my chest an arms. Then on Sunday while we were out, I got re-burned. So I am in a little pain. While I was shopping on Sunday, I bought some sunscreen and some sunburn gel. I used some of the gel in the store before I finished shopping. It sure cooled down my chest and made my arms quit throbbing.

While we were out on our travels, we took some pictures of some beautiful flowers. We aren't sure what kind they are, but I will post them when I get them developed. I know Alaskan flowers and Charlie knows West Virginia flowers, but neither one of us knows diddly about these Texas beauties.

Speaking of Texas, the State of Texas, in all their wonderful wisdom, decided that they were going to close Saylor's Alaska child support case. Andy's payments went there every week from Indiana. And Saylor got her child support here on her Alaska debit card card every week. No problem. So without asking Saylor or even telling her, the State of Texas closed her Alaska case. They decided they should handle it. In case he quit making payments, they would be able to enforce it. They didn't notify Andy either. So for 4 weeks, she hasn't recieved any child support. The payments he made to Alaska, were sent back to him. To cash and spend as he sees fit. The Dumass who did it said that Andy should send the checks to Texas when he gets them back in the mail. Because that is what he would do. What a Mo-ron.

As soon as I figure out how, I will add the links to my stores on here. But this blog stuff is still new to me.

Today is my Mom & Big Daddy's 9th Anniversary. It is also my cousin Linda's birthday. Here is your Birthday Scripture for April 8th:                                                     Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.    Hosea 6:3

If you you like Sonic Cherry Limeade, you should try Sunkist Cherry Limeade. It is a very close second, if you don't live a block and a half away from Sonic, like I do.

Bloomin' Where I'm Planted
Mood:  bright

I went to the Bloomin' Fest today with my wonderful husband. We had a great day in town. But I wasn't able to find any Hens 'N Chicks. I just really like those plants. I just can't seem to kill them. Smile

I bought a cookbook while I was there. It was done by the First United Methodist Church of Lampasas. It has been my experience that cookbooks like these are usually the best kind of cookbooks. They always have "secret" family recipes in them.

I bought Saylor some bamboo. Tristan's friend Andy saw it and asked if it was asparagus. lol  The food from the vendors was really good too. I can hardly wait for the City Wide Garage Sale in 3 weeks.

There are no birthdays or anniversaries today. If it is your birthday today, here is Your Birthday Scripture.

Acts 17:27~That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.

This is short today. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the wonderful weather.

Trying to Clear The Cobwebs From My Mind
Mood:  a-ok

I haven't been doing much this week. Just getting ready for the Bloomin' Fest tomorow. It is an all day event in downtown Lampasas. This will be our forst event since we moved here. We plan on spending all day there.

We went back to Country Kitchen. It was even better than the first time. We had breakfast this time. Even though we actually missed the cut off by about 10 minutes, theylet us order breakfast anyways. I had bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns. I have never seen bacon that big. Charlie had an omlet called Jessie's Mess. It had everything but the kitchen sink in it. According to menu. And judging by the omlet on Charlies plate. They also have great sweet tea. And the sweetest waitresses I have ever met. They are so friendly.

The weather is nice today. Not hot and not cold. It rained (stormed) all night long. It should only be about 75 tomorrow. Just perfect for the Bloomin' Fest.

I missed Kamryn & Jared's anniversary yesterday. I just totally spaced it out. I am so sorry to both of you.

There are no birthdays or anniversaries today.

Today's birthday scripture is Micha 6:8  ~He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Today's joke: A Penguin drives his car to the mechanic. The mechanic theel him it will be about an hour before he knows what is wrong with it. So the penguin go across the street to the 7-11 for an ice cream cone. But having no arms, the Penguin gets some of the ice cream on his face. He goes back across the street to see if his car is done. The mechanic says, "It looks like you blew a seal."  The penguin says, "No, it's just a little ice cream."

Day 1~My First Entry
Mood:  happy

Well, this is my first blog. I guess I should start with a little about me. I am handicapped. I use a power chair at all times. I live deep in the Heart of Texas with my loving husband Charlie and my chihuahua Rudy.

I have 4 children and 15 grandchildren. My children and my grandchildren live all over the place. They are scattered from Alaska to Florida. I  was blessed with a large family.

I was born and raised outside of Los Angeles, Calif.  Then as a teenager I moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Big culture shock. I spent some time in Florida, Colorado and West Virginia. But I am now in Texas and I absolutely love it here. Great weather. Friendly people. And cowboys with cute, tight butts. Tongue out

We found a wonderful little restaurant today. It's called The Country Kitchen. We got a BLT, a 2 fisted hamburger, an order of fries and 2 large glasses of sweet tea for $11.53 including tax.  Not bad.

Next weekend is the Bloomin Fest. Then Saturday the 26th is the city wide yard sale in the courtyard square. I plan on attending both of these. Plus multiple other festivals throughout the year.

SEEN ON A CHURCH SIGN

When the last trumpet sounds we are outta here!

I just tried Doctor Kracker Pumpkin Cheddar Snack Chips. They are crispy and tasty. But a little pricey. Try them if you can find them. Don't let the words ~whole grain~ or ~organic~ put you off. Despite this they are tasty anyways.
